Technical Services

When it all gets too technical the CEA can help. Much new legislation is handed down from Brussels and UK government authorities can add further complications. We work closely with the Committee for European Construction Equipment (CECE) to lobby for fair and practical technical regulation. We also meet regularly with the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills (BIS), the Department for Transport (DfT), the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) and other government departments, so that new legislation can work effectively in the UK.

Our General Technical Committee (GTC) is supported by major OEMs to ensure there is a clear and consistent voice to government and its agencies on technical issues. Membership of the GTC is open to any member manufacturer or supplier.

Regular Technical Bulletins keep members briefed on key developments – often acting as an early warning system on proposed legislation. With increased pressure to meet environmental and health and safety targets, manufacturers and suppliers need to keep ahead of the game. Our technical service offers members the chance to meet and discuss the key issues with fellow industry experts – and to help champion their cause on product specific issues.
