Lewis Equipment Ltd are celebrating their 20th year of manufacturing backhoes and loaders for compact tractors and they are now the UK's leading manufacturers in this field. Lewis Equipment has grown with the market and includes the smaller end of the construction market among their customers.

In addition to attachments they also manufacture the Lewis Badger - a four wheel drive compact backhoe loader developed for use in a variety of working environments. The 1650mm overall width allows easy access to confined spaces and less coning area is required when undertaking roadside maintenance. Lewis Equipment are well aware of the coning problem and this lead to patenting and production of the Lewis 3-way Tip Bucket which allows back filling of trenches to the left OR right. The larger version of the 3-way tip bucket is 1860mm wide and used successfully on larger plant and in particular by tarmac contractors.

For the skid steer user in the construction industry, Lewis Equipment manufactures the Landlord 330S backhoe. This has been designed with safety in mind, as the backhoe is operated from inside the cab. The hydraulic supply to the backhoe is disconnected when the swing in/swing out controls are hinged out to allow front access to and from the skid steer.
