DTI
Guide to Countertrade and Offset
The
DTI has substantially revised and enlarged its guide to
countertrade and offset. Cnuntertrade is an increasingly
important trading mechanism where goods are exchanged for
goods. In South East Asia and Russia for example it has
been one of the few options for financing trade during the
current financial crises. The UK lags behind our major competitors
in using countertrade. Offset is a key mechanism in winning
major export contracts in the defence industry it is increasingly
being used in civil contracts. The latest edition of Countertertrade
and Offset - A Guide for Exporters (URN 98l S3 8) includes
up-to-date information on regulations and practices in over
80 markets and more than 135 contacts to check the latest
position in overseas markets.
The
Guide is priced at £20. 00 and available f'rom DTI Publications
