ERWIN LOWE LTD

Edwin Lowe Cartridge
Edwin Lowe Ltd is the only specialist manufacturer in the UK of steel bearing housings for heavy duty welded steel conveyor idlers.

They have also introduced new technology to the industry, set to revolutionise idler manufacturing techniques - namely, prefabricated bearing housing cartridges. These units contain bearings, seals, grease, etc - all locked within the steel bearing housing.

The cartridges are simply mounted upon the idler shaft and welded to the idler tube - giving a fully assembled, fully greased idler - ready to roll!

This new technical innovation has had a very significant effect on the way in which idlers are now manufactured. The use of prefabricated cartridges for idler manufacturing brings many advantages to the idler manufacturer, compared with traditional methods. Amongst other things, idler manufacturers can now benefit from both direct and indirect cost savings with quicker assembly, and reduced lead times.

Edwin Lowe Ltd manufacture an extensive range of cartridges incorporating deep groove ball bearings. This new technology, which also guarantees easier repeatable Lowe accuracy of construction, has been introduced to idler manufacturers in over twenty countries - can we help you?

HENRY COOCH & SON LTD
ADDING TO THEIR RANGE -- SKYLITE 5

Skylite 5 is a compact, heavy duty trolley containing a 4KVA 110155 CTE diesel generator with a long run fuel tank, giving in excess of 24 hours running time on full load. Attached to the trolley is a telescopic mast giving variable heights from 2.2m to 5m. The mast head is fitted with either 2 x 1,500w or 4 x 50Ow, 1 1 Ov, totally enclosed tungsten halogen floodlights, which can be individually adjusted for direction and level of illumination. When not in use, the whole mast and lights fold back on top of the unit, reducing the space required for either storage or transport. The tower, floodlights and stabilising legs can be removed as one assembly by removing one bolt, thus leaving a long run generator.

GKD TECHNIK LTD
On-Board Dynamic Weighing for Excavators, Loaders and Air Suspension Lorries

GKD Technik Ltd have launched a range of instruments for dynamic weighing of loads on excavators, wheel loaders and trucks. A range of several instruments and complete systems are available to provide exact weight information, which is achieved by measuring the actual bucket loads of excavators and wheel loaders and by measurement of the actual load on all axles of air suspended lorries.

Of modular and robust design, the display unit is mounted inside the cab and provides large and clear LCD readout of the information. The compact and user friendly indicators display single load, total load, target load and lift cycle information. Recorded information with customer identification code numbers, date and time can be printed out or downloaded. Detailed reports provide management the opportunity to optimise the machines' utilisation, to reduce service maintenance costs and to enhance safety as a result of less strain on the vehicle due to overloads and overheated brakes.

The excavator system includes depth control information when a constant depth has to be maintained in relation to the ground level. A variety of sensors are used to measure the loads lifted and transported. They include hydraulic pressure sensors, tension and compression load cells and load pins.

Nowadays information is considered to be the most important tool to run a business successfully. Mobile plant operations and load transportation are benefiting in increased productivity, efficiency and safety from the information provided by the modem technology made available to them via GKD Technik.
