BAUMA : 2-8 April 2001 - Munich, Germany

A record number of British companies will exhibit at Bauma 2001. Over 120 British exhibitors representing a wide spectrum of the construction equipment, mining, tunnelling, concrete, vehicle and building equipment sectors will fly the British flag at Bauma - the recognised world’s fair for construction equipment.

Comprising OEMs, component suppliers, service providers, research and trade press, the FMCEC is pleased to be able to help companies obtain grant support through the Trade Partners UK SESA scheme. However, as Bauma is now designated as a Core Event, only two grant aided participations are allowed in any ten year period. This means that a number of British companies are not eligible to receive grant and, therefore, feel unable to exhibit. The FMCEC offers a solution - the British Pavilion Display Package. From only £125 (plus VAT) companies are able to have a visible presence at Bauma, including graphic display and literature distribution - and a meeting / hospitality facility.

ANKOMAK : 22-27 May 2001 - Istanbul, Turkey

M&T EXPO : 18-22 September 2001 - São Paulo, Brazil

Don’t get left behind by your overseas competitors! M&T Expo, International Construction and Mining Equipment Trade Fair, is South America’s main construction and mining equipment exhibition. The 1999 show attracted 220 exhibitors - occupying 23,000 sqm of space. The event, attended by 18,000 professional visitors, generated around US$330 million in business. The exhibition covers all areas of the construction and mining equipment sectors together with technical services and publications. The Federation’s Export Marketing Group Joint Chairman David Redhead (BSP International Foundations Ltd) said "I highly recommend M&T Expo to all British companies wishing to export to Latin America. The show would be an excellent opportunity for component suppliers as well as OEMs to access this potentially lucrative and expanding marketplace." M&T Expo is a niche exhibition with SESA support of up to £2,300 (60% of space and construction costs) plus a New Emerging Campaign Market subsidy of £1,200.

IVT EXPO : 19-21 June 2001 - Stuttgart, Germany

June 2000 saw the successful launch of IVT Expo in Hamburg, Germany. The show was targeted specifically at OEM engineers and designers and provided component manufacturers with a platform from which to display their technologies to a 100% relevant visitor group. The show attracted just over 2,000 senior OEM engineering and design staff from over 33 countries. Compared to an end user show this number was small, but the genuine quality of the visitors was excellent - "like finding the gold without having to shift all the gravel" as one exhibitor remarked.

The 2001 event moves to Stuttgart and will run from 19-21 June. Alongside the show will be a three-day conference where selected speakers can discuss issues affecting their work in industrial vehicle design and engineering. Topics will include vehicle design trends, advanced materials, drive system for electric forklifts, man-machine interface and engine and powertrain technologies. Opportunities still exist to present a paper at the conference.
