EXHIBITIONS
ROUND UP
The
2001-2002 exhibitions diary is busier than ever. CEA members
will be represented at five major exhibitions in four continents
- North and South America, Europe and Asia.
In
addition to Bauma the CEA will be promoting the best of
British construction equipment in a British Information
Centre at Ankomak (Istanbul, Turkey 5-10 June 2001), IVT
Expo (Stuttgart, Germany 19-21 June 2001), M&T Expo
(Sao Paulo, Brazil 18-22 September 2001), Baucon Asia (Singapore
20-23 November 2001) and Conexpo Con-Agg & IFPE (Las
Vegas, USA 19-23 March 2002).
With
the exception if IVT Expo all the shows are Trade Partners
SESA (Support for Exhibitions and Seminars Abroad) supported
- meaning British exhibitors can benefit from a grant of
up to £2,300 plus target market grants of £1,200 in Brazil
and £800 in Turkey.
If
your exhibition budget does not stretch to a stand then
the CEA can assist exporters by offering a display package
of company literature and graphics.

WHERE
DO YOU WANT TO GO - WHERE NEXT FOR THE CEA?
The
CEA sets its exhibition policy in consultation with its
Council, the Export Marketing Group and members. All bids
for SESA supported exhibitions have to be made a minimum
of 12 months in advance. To help us plan our exhibition
programme let us know of any exhibitions (during the period
April 2002 to March 2003) or markets you would like to be
considered in the next bidding round.
For
a bid to be successful it is important to have a clear strategy
on why a particular exhibition will benefit the industry.
Support from the Commercial Department of the local British
Embassy or High Commission is especially helpful, as are
reports from your personnel who have actually visited the
show.

CEA
(FMCEC) AT BUDMA 2001
The
CEA (FMCEC) and its members were represented at the Budma
exhibition (Poznan, Poland January 2001). The construction,
building and mining industries were represented on a joint
British Information Stand - giving high visual impact to
British companies.
In
addition to the distribution of general CEA (FMCEC) industry
information - Product Guides and Business Trackers - 18
member companies took advantage of the opportunity to display
brochures completely FREE OF CHARGE.
We
hope to be working in partnership with Building Exhibitions
Management and the Construction Products Association to
bring CEA members similar opportunities around the world.

BRITISH
COMPANIES EXHIBIT IN RECORD NUMBERS AT BAUMA 2001
BAUMA
2001 Munich,
Germany
With
more than 120 exhibitors from the United Kingdom, it is
the largest number of British companies ever to exhibit
at Bauma - the world’s fair for construction equipment.
Many of the companies have exhibited at Bauma on a regular
basis but, for 38 companies, this is the first time. The
500+ sqm British Pavilion will host 27 companies as well
as the CEA’s British Information Centre.
Rob
Oliver, Chief Executive of the CEA, said "It is extremely
encouraging to see a record number of British companies
exhibiting at Bauma. It is the premier event for the construction
industry, providing excellent opportunities to market products
and services to potential customers from around the world."
The
CEA British Information Centre (Stand No: A5-438/323) will
provide a range of services to British companies in the
Group including; interpreters, a meeting room, display facilities,
Internet and e-mail access, telephone, fax and hospitality.
In addition it will also help visitors locate British companies
and provide a lead- taking service for companies unable
to exhibit.
