The CESAR scheme
The Construction Equipment Security and Registration (CESAR) scheme is now in its second year – and firmly established on the UK construction equipment scene.

 10,000th CESAR system
A key milestone in sales of CESAR systems was reached at the beginning of April with the 10,000th system being allocated to Mr Karl Dineen of KDP Plant Ltd, Lincoln. KDP specialise in plant and tipper hire and are customers of HSBC Equipment Finance Ltd. The system will be fitted to a 5.5 tonne Volvo EC 5.5 Excavator. In recognition of this, a special CESAR Supporter certificate was presented to Mr Ted Wright, on behalf of Mr Dineen, at the CEA’s
Ingredients for Success Conference on 10 April 2008. In acknowledgement of the achievement, CEA President, Colin Wakeham (Bell Equipment UK Ltd), stated, “We are delighted to recognise this milestone. The CESAR scheme is gathering excellent momentum as a powerful deterrent to the plant theft problem”.
