The CESAR scheme
The CEA is acting as lead organisation for the CESAR plant registration scheme at the invitation of the Plant Theft Action Group (PTAG) – and Datatag is the service provider. Registration, combined with Datatag's technology, both deters theft and makes recovery of stolen plant more certain. CESAR is a voluntary scheme and manufacturers can elect to fit the CESAR kit as standard or as an option for their customers. Alternatively, they may nominate their approved distributors to undertake the fitting on new equipment and that already in operation.

Welcome to the AEA
The CEA has been pleased to offer the Agricultural Engineers Association partnership status in the promotion of CESAR in their sector. Several agricultural equipment suppliers already support CESAR and the formal recognition of this via the AEA was a natural progression. The AEA will input to the development of the programme and help the CEA in ensuring the continued quality and integrity of the scheme. The expansion of CESAR into other sectors has led to the dropping of the old full name of the project, which specifically referred to construction equipment. Future promotions will concentrate on the CESAR name and brand alone.
