CESAR starts today
Construction Equipment Security and Registration Scheme (CESAR) packs are now officially available to order. Today represents the culmination of an intensive development and preparation programme since mid-November which started with the nomination of Datatag to deliver the scheme on behalf of the Plant Theft Action Group (PTAG). The CEA Management Council have been involved in vetting the programme which has generated support and interest from police forces nationwide, the insurance industry, the Home Office and users. Police Commander booked
The latest addition to the list of speakers at this year's Leading the Way AGM Conference (17th May) is Metropolitan Police Commander Sue Wilkinson. She is from the Specialist Crime Directorate with a keen interest in vehicle and plant theft - lending her support to the CESAR scheme. First time visitors to the conference will also be a delegation from the Board of German manufacturers' organisation the
VDMA. With over 6 weeks to go, the conference is now around 50% sold out

New approach to trade development
At its recent meeting, the CEA Management Council was briefed by our President, Paul Ross, on a possible new approach to CEA policy on trade development with emerging markets. The new approach is the subject of discussions with UKTI to establish funding possibilities. The concept involves a four stage programme of; market and infrastructure studies, in-market presentations, targeted visits in the form of inward missions to the UK and
co-ordinated International Business Group events. More at this year's AGM Conference.
