CEA Half-Yearly Conference: 22 September 2011
The CEA is going back in time amongst the museum exhibits at the Heritage Motor Centre for our Half-Yearly Conference on 22 September. But the programme is very much to do with the issues of today. The day is in two halves – the morning to mid-afternoon is the time for CEA committees and workshops for our members. If you need to get up to speed with the detail of technical and regulatory developments; and what’s happening on export and international trade issues, then come along. Later in the afternoon we have the “What you Need to Know” Executive Briefings, arranged in association with the new PLANTWORX trade show. This is a session open to CEA members and guests, show exhibitors and supporters. Expect to hear informed presentations on what’s new in the EU, a heads up on regulatory matters – and insights into the UK construction equipment market. It is all for free, but please book early as we may have to limit numbers. Look forward to seeing you there and at the PLANTWORX Reception and Grand Stand Draw in the Museum.

Something for Manufacturers, Distributors and Owners…
In his Regulatory Overview for Managers, the CEA’s Malcolm Kent will focus on where the responsibilities lie for the legal conformity of machines as they follow the chain of distribution.  This includes the adaptation of machines for a different use, adding features over and above statutory requirements, retrofitting accessories, etc.  This session will be of interest to anyone who may need help on making sense of the often arcane and confusing welter of regulations.  You are invited to provide examples of pieces of legislation on which you would appreciate guidance ...

The PLANTWORX Grand Stand Draw
The Draw is scheduled to follow the CEA Half-Yearly Conference on 22 September.  The conference will conclude with a wine and canapé reception within the museum itself from 17.45 to 19.00 hours.  This provides an ideal platform to hold the stand draw – look out for the special guests!  In true lottery style the Grand Stand Draw gives all “Maxi” stand exhibitors an equal chance for the prime located static and demo areas.  “Maxi” stands are 36x24m / 24x24m areas.  The thinking behind the draw was that the “Maxi” stands will be strategically positioned around both areas of the site (Dig and No-Dig), so all that exhibit around them will benefit from maximum footfall.  Stand sizes have been limited to ensure that those with smaller marketing budgets are also able to compete...
